San Marcos Institute of Music began as a small passion project—just a few private students in a local community. But as word spread and demand grew, founder Dr. Martin Kesuma realized there was an opportunity to do more than simply refer students to other teachers. The vision was to create a place where students could receive the best possible music education while staying connected in a warm, supportive community. That vision became San Marcos Institute of Music: a school where growth, connection, and quality instruction go hand in hand.

At the heart of our teaching is a belief that music is more than just notes and rhythms—it’s a way to build discipline, grit, and resilience that lasts a lifetime. Our lessons are highly structured, with clear expectations and thoughtful time management, ensuring students stay engaged and make steady progress. With a team of instructors from diverse backgrounds and specialties, we welcome learners of all ages and skill levels. Looking ahead, our dream is to grow into a larger space with a dedicated concert hall, becoming the town’s central hub for music-making and inspiring a more musical San Marcos for years to come.
